Tecla Consulting LLC has one opening available for the position of Industrial Coach with the following qualifications:

Requires U.S. Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in any field. Requires 2 years of experience as an industrial coach in the following areas: 1) conducting training in the areas of Lean manufacturing, Lean Management System, Total Productive Maintenance applied to safety, continuous improvement and operations leadership initiatives; 2) coaching and leading cross-functional teams, including team building, understanding motivation and negotiation techniques and providing work direction to others; 3) working with TPM Principles and methods like 5S, Autonomous Maintenance, Planned Maintenance, Quality Maintenance, Kaizen, Early Equipment Maintenance, Education and Training, Health Safety and Environment, TPM Office; 4) working with the implementation and oversight of Operational Excellence initiatives in a manufacturing environment;  and 5) driving large scale culture shift. Requires US domestic travel up to 75% of working time to unanticipated customer sites for periods of up to three weeks and up to 25% international travel for periods up to three weeks.

Job duties for the position include:


Design and conduct training on production process improvements using the appropriate Continuous Improvement (CI) methodologies and programs relating to safety, operations, maintenance, inventory, and other supporting manufacturing skills models. In conjunction with Group/Division/plant support teams, conduct/assist in plant assessments to identify improvement opportunities and develop prioritized improvement action plans. Utilize Lean manufacturing, Lean Management System (LMS), Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles such as 5S, Autonomous Maintenance, Planned Maintenance, Quality Maintenance, Kaizen, Early Equipment Maintenance, Education and Training, Health Safety and Environment, TPM Office and Operational Excellence initiatives as needed to improve productivity, lower costs, reduce scrap and drive improvement in mills / plants. Complete the Self-Assessment exercise according to the required framework to guide the on-going TPM/LMS progress according to the improvement action plans. Complete regular Plant Health Checks to ensure the plant continues to operate to TPM/LMS governance model. Support the plant managers in preparation for plant related audits. Identify actions, initiatives, and opportunities to grow and improve productivity. Lead/support key initiatives as needed. Train, coach and educate clients’ associates on improving zero based losses and using KPIs such as Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), product quality, waste reduction and decreased operating costs. Coach and lead cross-functional teams, including team building, understanding motivation and negotiation techniques and providing work direction to others. Coordinate multiple projects to support process improvement teams as needed. Work with all levels of management to establish standard work instructions and control plans for respective projects and events, to ensure long-term sustainable improvements. Implement and provide oversight of Operational Excellence initiatives in a manufacturing environment. Provide leadership training to all levels of management, including plant/production workers in productivity/process improvement strategies and coordinates the implementation of key initiatives. (i.e. SPS, Standard Work for Leaders, Budgeting Process, Six Sigma) to drive large scale cultural shift. Identify needs for specific skills training. Identify trainer options, and lead training as required.
